I'm a married father of two with a passion for Star Wars. By day, I am a software programmer, working for "the man". By night, I do other things, including:
- baking
- writing limericks, sonnets, haiku, etc.
- softball and basketball
- wrestling with my kids
- watching "Chuck" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"
- making music with my talented family
I am also a contributing editor at the Omnificent English Dictionary In Limerick Form (OEDILF). This is an enormous project with the goal of completing a dictionary in which all of the definitions are given in limerick format. The projected completion date for this project is somewhere around 2037, so if you are a limerick writer, I invite you to help out. You can sign up at
www.oedilf.com . The limerick definitions that I've submitted can be found
here.

An Apology
--------------
I apologize for what you will see here
I sometimes find myself fighting with meter
And from time to time,
The lines, they don’t rhyme,
But cut me some slack, it’s not like I’m charging you to read this, okay?
Apologies, I’ve come back to grips,
And I looked up some limerick tips.
I’ve picked up some wisdom
On structure and rhythm
But sticking to the rules has never been a really strong suit of mine.

Veggie Tray
--------------
My veggie tray's selection was unique.
'Twas still offered to a jittery sheikh
Who hopped from foot to foot,
Ignoring the ginger root,
Took an onion, saying, "Gotta take a leek!"
He ran off to the loo speedily.
Later on, he returned back to me.
Assessed my tray and proceeded
To eat a pod that was seeded.
I asked him, "Tell me sir, how was your pea?"
We laughed, and guffawed, and made a fuss
At the playful double entendre between us.
He said with a wink,
"I'd hate to think
What you'd say if I had the asparagus!"

Lorum Ipsum
--------------
Something funny on the way to the forum,
I found a page that said "ipsum lorum".
What does it mean?
Is it something obscene?
Is it meaningful or only decorum?
Followed by the words "dolor sit amet"
My heart raced and I broke into a sweat.
My eyes started to strain;
Was I going insane?
Ha! Trick question, don't answer that yet.
"Consectetur adipisicing elit",
Now I was ready to pitch a big fit.
Confused and perplexed,
I scanned the rest of the text.
It was as easy to read as sanskrit.
I seriously considered going for unction,
'Til I remembered the famous search function.
Google quickly displays,
"Lorum Ipsum's a phrase
Commonly found on pages under construction!"
